Location

One of the closest hotels to Port Canaveral and with limited views of the ships.

Five very good restaurants are within 0.5 miles from the hotel or next door – safe and easy walking. Preacher Bar is an interesting concept – classy yet eccentric with a different kind of menu! Kelsey’s serves popular Italian food. Zachary’s is Greek with a home-style menu. Thai Thai (you have to cross busy A1A) has the best Thai food in the area. Zarrella’s Pizza offers both Brick Oven and Wood Fire pizza as well as other Italian food. There are also McDonalds (MD), Burger King (BK) and Subway (SW) nearby. The Florida Beer Company is THE brewery in the area with tours and a wide selection of beer on tap. Racetrac sells affordable gas/diesel as well as wine, beer and fast food.

You can also rent a car from Hertz next door or take the local bus ($1.50) down to Cocoa Beach Pier and beyond – wait at the SCAT stop.

The mini golf is the cheapest of the three courses in the area but not the most exciting!

The Four Points Sheraton is off A1A in Cocoa Beach about 5.3 miles from the cruise terminals. The location is in a very popular area of Cocoa Beach within everything nearby – restaurants, bars, grocery stores, shops and the beach just a block to the east. You can easily walk to all the places of interest to you.

Ron Jon Surf Shop is the biggest attraction nearby but folks also love the various beachwear shops, minigolf across the street and Sandbar Sports Grill about 4 blocks north for great food and music. Brano’s is the perhaps the most consistently best restaurant nearby but there are plenty of other excellent choices including the Shark Pit Grill inside the hotel!

Rooms

A unique feature of the Sheraton is that many rooms face inwards – overlooking the surf shop and restaurant areas! This means many rooms do not get natural light – much like the inside cabins on a cruise ship! This is not for everyone so please ask for outside rooms if you want.

The outside rooms do not have balconies and the views are of the hotel across the street.

For inside view rooms – choose odd numbers (e.g. 405). For outside view rooms – choose even numbers (e.g. 406).

The 5th floor is the top floor with room 500 closest to the parking garage and rooms 515 or 518 closest to A1A.

All rooms have a microwave and fridge. There are two types of rooms:

  • Traditional Guest Rooms – Two Queen Beds. Sleeps 4 or One King Bed. Sleeps 2
  • Junior Suite Rooms – A separate lounge with a partial privacy wall. Two Queen Beds and a Queen Sofa Bed. These rooms are slightly larger and have inside views. Sleeps 6

Rooms

Note – the room numbering system is funky here! There are basically 2 clusters of rooms – those east (beach-side) of the elevators and those to the west (A1A-side) of the elevators!

The numbering begins in the middle as shown below! Room 810 is way west (left) and 820 is way east (right) closest to the beach.

Hampton Inn - Room Numbers

The higher rooms on the 6th, 7th and 8th floors have the best ocean views but it depends on the room location. For example, rooms immediately to the west of the elevators may not have ocean views because of the structure.

If you want to overlook the pool, pick rooms 820 to 811 for example. Or 220 to 211 to stay just above the pool!

Rooms can accommodate either 4 or 6 persons and include a mini fridge and microwave. Options are:

  • A King Bed with a Sleeping Sofa. Maximum 4 persons.
  • Two Queen Beds with a Sleeping Sofa. Maximum 6 persons.
